What is a limited edition giclee print? A giclee print is where one of the original prints is scanned and reproduced at high quality. Essentially it is a high quality copy and must not be confused with an original print. A limited edition giclee print means that only a certain number of copies have been made. Example of giclee print in a natural oak frame The giclee print to the left is marked as 3/100, this means 100 copies have been printed and this is third. Our prints are scanned at the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth and printed by Redcliffe Imaging in Bristol. Redcliffe Imaging is a Fine Art Trade Guild Accredited Fine Art Printer. The giclee prints they produce are made on archival quality coated paper and printed with pigment based archival inks, which are UV stable. They come in an A3 size and are available framed or unframed. Each giclee print is signed by the artist. Giclee prints have the advantage of being less expensive than an original print but are still of a very high quality.
